A small tool with a clear purpose
Designed for
WhatsApp Agent connects a supported business workflow to a WhatsApp Web session running on your Windows PC. The agent lives in the system tray, opens a QR sign-in window when needed and keeps its browser profile locally so you can resume the same session.
The tool can accept sending work through its local connection or a configured Odoo Agent Hub pairing. In either setup, your business application prepares the message and attachment, while the Windows agent carries out the WhatsApp Web interaction. It is a practical bridge for supported workflows such as sending a document after a business transaction.
This is browser automation of WhatsApp Web, rather than the official WhatsApp Business API. The compatibility and usage limitations are explained below so you can choose the right connection for your operation.
Keep the browser profile on the workstation and reconnect through the tray agent when the session needs attention.
Submit a document or image with a caption through a supported business workflow.
Follow the agent’s status and logs rather than guessing whether the workstation is linked.
What the tool can do
Practical capabilities, with the setup and compatibility details explained below.
Run the agent beside your business application. Tray controls give you access to the browser, connection status and logs, without needing to keep a separate main application window in front of your work.
Open the bundled browser and scan the QR code from WhatsApp Linked Devices. The agent keeps a local browser profile between runs, so the linked session can be reused while it remains valid.
Supported workflows can submit a text message or an attachment to the agent. Documents and images can carry a caption, keeping the customer-facing file and its explanation together.
The local HTTP bridge listens on the same PC at 127.0.0.1:8765. Sending requests require the configured bridge token. Your supported integration prepares the destination and content, and the agent interacts with the linked Web session.
When your integration uses Agent Hub, pair the workstation to the configured Odoo server and approve the request on the PC. The agent polls the server for work, so the pairing does not need an inbound port forwarded to the workstation.
Use the status window and logs when a session needs attention or a message cannot be sent. A successful agent action is useful operational feedback; it is not an official WhatsApp delivery or read receipt.
From installation to first use
Follow these steps, then use a sample or test job to confirm your connection.
Request the installer and install it on the PC that will run the connection. Launch the tray agent, check its status window and decide whether it should start with Windows.
Open the agent’s WhatsApp browser. On your phone, open WhatsApp Linked Devices and scan the displayed QR code. Wait for the chat interface to load before testing the integration.
Configure your supported application with the local bridge and token, or enter the Odoo Agent Hub pairing details. For Hub pairing, review and accept the device request on the workstation.
Use a permitted test recipient to confirm a text message and a representative attachment. Check the agent status and the recipient’s conversation, then connect the approved business workflow.
Where it fits
Illustrative scenarios showing how the capabilities work together.
A supported SmartCode workflow prepares a document and the intended recipient. The agent sends the attachment through the linked WhatsApp Web session, with a caption where the integration supplies one.
A team approves its Windows workstation in Agent Hub. The agent polls the configured Odoo server for sending work and reports its status, without exposing an inbound connection to the PC.
Compatibility and preparation
Check the device, connection and access requirements before your first live job.
WindowsNo. This agent automates WhatsApp Web in a local browser. It does not provide official API templates, delivery or read callbacks, or an official messaging service guarantee. For an official API requirement, discuss a separately configured WhatsApp Business Platform integration.
The inspected agent supports text, document and image attachments, with an optional caption. The business integration supplies the recipient and content; supported file formats and practical limits should be checked with a representative test.
Yes. The Windows agent, its linked browser session and the network connection need to be available for the configured sending workflow. If the session expires, use the browser window to link the account again.
The profile is kept locally under the Windows user’s AppData in SmartWhatsappAgent/whatsapp_profile. Treat the workstation and linked session as account access. Messages still travel through WhatsApp and, when configured, the connected business system.
WhatsApp Web changes can interrupt browser automation, and automated use can conflict with the platform’s terms or cause account restrictions. This agent is suitable only where those limitations fit your approved workflow. It cannot guarantee delivery, continued Web compatibility or protection from account restrictions.
