A small tool with a clear purpose

Put your existing tools to work together.

Designed for

  • Android counter devices
  • Receipt and thermal-print workflows
  • Supported SmartCode application users
  • Bluetooth, network and USB printer setups

Mobile Print Agent turns a compatible Android phone or tablet into a local printing bridge for supported business software. The app receives ESC/POS print bytes over its local connection and sends them to the selected thermal printer. Choose a paired Bluetooth printer, a network printer or a USB device, then save the connection for the next job.

The app provides 58 mm and 80 mm paper settings, a sample-print action, connection status and troubleshooting logs. Supported Bluetooth and network connections can run through its foreground background service. USB printing has a different requirement: keep the app interface open so Android can provide the USB device access.

This is a bridge for compatible ESC/POS hardware and application integrations. It does not turn every printer into a supported device, and it does not convert arbitrary documents into receipt commands.

Use the connection you have

Choose among supported paired Bluetooth, local network and USB thermal-printer setups.

Check before the live job

Use a sample print to confirm the selected printer and paper settings before connecting your business workflow.

A repeatable counter setup

Keep the selected printer and settings saved for subsequent supported print jobs.

What the tool can do

Explore the details.
See what connects.

Practical capabilities, with the setup and compatibility details explained below.

01

Choose the connection that fits

Select Bluetooth Classic, network TCP or USB from the app. Bluetooth uses printers already paired in Android settings; the network option uses the printer’s IP address and port, while USB depends on the Android device’s host support and permission.

  • Paired Bluetooth Classic printers
  • Network IP and TCP port
  • USB OTG/host connection
02

A local bridge for print jobs

The agent’s local HTTP service listens on port 8888. A supported application sends raw ESC/POS bytes to that service, and the app forwards them to the selected printer. Network and browser access must be confirmed for your actual application setup.

  • Local service on port 8888
  • Raw ESC/POS job forwarding
  • Connection status for integrations
03

Save the receipt settings

Choose the paper width and the options your printer actually supports. Feed, cut, cash-drawer and beep commands depend on the hardware, so a sample print is the simplest way to check the selected combination.

  • 58 mm and 80 mm paper
  • Feed and cut settings
  • Hardware-dependent drawer and beep options
04

Keep supported connections available

The foreground service helps Bluetooth and network printing continue while the app is in the background. Startup options and saved settings support the same configured connection across sessions. Android power management can still affect availability.

  • Foreground service
  • Saved printer and settings
  • Optional start-on-boot behaviour
05

A sample before the live receipt

Use Print Sample in the app to confirm the selected connection and paper settings before sending a real business job. This separates printer setup from the application’s receipt content and makes the first connection easier to diagnose.

  • Built-in sample print
  • Selected-printer check
  • Paper and device-option verification
06

Logs you can share for support

The app keeps a rolling seven-day error log in its private storage. Share Log and Download Log give the support team useful connection details when a printer, permission or application job needs attention.

At a glance

  • Bluetooth Classic paired-printer connection
  • Wi-Fi/network printing by IP address
  • USB OTG printer connection
  • 58 mm and 80 mm paper settings
  • Print Sample connection test
  • Saved settings and shareable troubleshooting logs

From installation to first use

A clear path to getting started.

Follow these steps, then use a sample or test job to confirm your connection.

  1. 01

    Install and grant access

Request the Android app and install it on the device that will sit near the printer. Review the Bluetooth, nearby-device and connection permissions requested for the transport you intend to use.

  2. 02

    Choose your printer connection

For Bluetooth, pair the printer in Android settings first, then select it in the app. For network printing, enter the printer IP and port. For USB, connect through the device’s host/OTG connection and approve the Android permission prompt.

  3. 03

Set the paper and device options

Save the selected printer and choose 58 mm or 80 mm paper. Enable feed, cut, drawer or beep options only if the connected printer supports those ESC/POS commands.

  4. 04

Print a sample and connect your app

Tap Print Sample and confirm the output. Then configure your supported business application to reach the agent on port 8888 and send a representative job. Keep the app interface open whenever USB printing is in use.

Where it fits

See it in
an everyday moment.

Illustrative scenarios showing how the capabilities work together.

An Android counter with a Bluetooth printer

The operator pairs an ESC/POS thermal printer in Android settings, selects it in the agent and prints a sample. The supported counter workflow then sends receipt bytes to the local bridge using that saved connection.

A network printer on the local network

The team enters the printer’s reachable IP address and TCP port, selects the paper width and checks the sample output. A supported application sends its job to the Android agent, which forwards it to the network printer.

Compatibility and preparation

What you’ll need.

Check the device, connection and access requirements before your first live job.

Android
  • A compatible Android phone or tablet with the app installed
  • An ESC/POS thermal printer compatible with the selected transport
  • Bluetooth pairing in Android settings before selecting a Bluetooth printer
  • For network printing: the printer IP address, port (commonly 9100) and local network reachability
  • For USB printing: USB host/OTG support, a suitable cable, device permission and the app interface kept open
  • A supported application that sends ESC/POS print bytes and can reach the agent’s local HTTP service on port 8888

Does this work on iPhone or Windows?

This Mobile Print Agent is an Android application. The inspected source does not include an iOS version. A separate desktop Print Agent is a different tool and is not the Android application described here.

Can I use any Bluetooth printer?

The Bluetooth transport uses Classic Bluetooth SPP with a paired compatible ESC/POS printer. Pair in Android settings before selecting it. BLE-only, proprietary or non-ESC/POS devices are not automatically compatible.

Can it print while the app is in the background?

Supported Bluetooth and network printing use the foreground service, subject to Android permissions and power management. USB printing requires the app interface to remain open because the USB plugin needs an active Android activity.

Can it print a PDF or any document sent to it?

The local print endpoint receives raw ESC/POS print bytes. The connected application is responsible for preparing compatible receipt content; the agent is not a general PDF or document conversion service.

Why does the sample print work but my application cannot connect?

Confirm that the application can reach the Android device’s local service on port 8888. Review the device address, network isolation, browser security requirements and the supported integration configuration. Share the app’s log when you need help diagnosing the connection.

How do I get the Android app?

Use Request the tool for the Android app and compatibility guidance. A direct download button will appear once an approved public release link is published. Confirm your device and printer connection before the first live job.
